About the role and where you will be working:
Germanus Kent House is at the heart of the Broome community and features a modern, state of the art facility, incorporating the natural beauty and vibrant culture of the Kimberley region into its design.
We are seeking a casual hospitality worker to join the team with a focus on Kitchen hand duties.
You'll be part of a team that plays a very important role in supporting the day-to-day running of our facility.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Contributing to a clean, comfortable, and homely environment for residents by maintaining all areas of the facility to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Supporting kitchen operations, including basic food preparation, dishwashing, cleaning kitchen equipment, and maintaining hygiene in kitchen and dining areas.

Assisting with meal service, such as plating meals, delivering food to residents, and ensuring dining areas are set up and cleared efficiently.

Assisting with ordering and restocking cleaning, laundry, and household supplies as needed.
About you:
You take genuine pride in delivering high quality work and enjoy building positive connections with our elderly residents. You’re a natural multitasker with strong time‑management skills, and you thrive in environments where care, consistency, and attention to detail truly matter. You feel at home in a kitchen setting and are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and comfort of our residents.
To be considered for this role you’ll need:
Minimum 1 year hospitality experience, ideally within a kitchen or food‑service environment.
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, including safe food handling and cleaning practices.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff.
Reliable and self motivated work ethic, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic understanding of infection prevention and control in an aged care setting.
Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records when handling food, cleaning tasks, or stock.
Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends, public holidays, and short notice coverage when required.
