Casual Disability Support Worker (Female) – Noble Park

The Able Group is looking for Disability Support Workers to join our team and support a male participant in Noble Park
This is an opportunity to build a genuine working relationship with someone who enjoys getting out into the community, staying active and having meaningful conversations. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, confident, patient and genuinely enjoys supporting people to live the life they choose.
About the Participant
Male - Mid 30s
- Living with Schizophrenia, Anxiety and Depression and PTSD
- Epilepsy management experience is preferred, or willingness to complete the appropriate training
- Personal care, dressing and mealtime assistance
- Community Participation
- General support around the home
- Shifts are 10am-6pm throught the week
The Kind of Person We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a genuine, down-to-earth individuals who can build rapport through authenticity, patience and mutual respect. Someone who enjoys being active, getting out into the community and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved. The participants responds best to someone who is confident without being confrontational, has a good sense of humour, and remains calm when emotions are running high. You’ll need to have a thick skin, understand that frustration isn’t personal, and be able to provide perspective without arguing.

Your Responsibilities
- Support community access and meaningful activities
- Personal Care
- Meal Time assistance
- Assist with daily living tasks within the participant’s home
- Build a positive, professional relationship based on trust and respect
- Use effective communication, redirection and de-escalation strategies
- Promote independence, choice and control
- Complete shift notes and required documentation
Essential Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Current Victorian Driver Licence
- ABN
- Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willing to complete)
