The Cairns Integrated Palliative Care service encourages continuity of client care across the care continuum and is committed to supporting patients and their carers to have care delivered in their preferred place of care. The service encourages close linkages with consumer and carer groups, non-government organisations and other government agencies. The Cairns Integrated Palliative Care Service provides consultative services Cairns Hospital and Residential Aged Care facilities (Specialist Palliative Care in Residential Aged Care (SPACE), telehealth services via the Specialist Palliative Care Rural Telehealth Service (SPaRTa) hub, provides direct care to patients at Gordonvale Hospital, community-based services, and outpatients clinic services.

About your opportunity:
In this position you will....
Act as a role model for Registered Nurses/Registered Midwives, Enrolled Nurses, and unregulated healthcare workers in the provision of holistic healthcare.
Participate in developing, evaluating, and updating clinical service procedures, protocols, standards and guidelines.
Provide clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education, and research.
Engage in incident reporting/investigation and conduct and apply quality improvement frameworks and audits and develop risk minimisation strategies/activities to promote safe and/or rectify unsafe practice.
