The Branch Strategy Stream sits at the centre of some of CommBank's most important decisions about our physical network. We use customer, operational, workforce and geographic data to help determine where branches are located, how they're designed, how they're staffed, and how they evolve to meet changing customer needs.
Working closely with senior leaders across Customer Service Network (CSN), we provide the insights that shape branch footprint strategy, network planning, workforce decisions and investment priorities. Our work influences how millions of customers access banking services across Australia, while balancing commercial outcomes, operational effectiveness and community needs.
Within the Retail Advanced Analytics & Data (RAAD) team, you'll join a group of analysts, strategists and problem solvers who are passionate about turning complex data into practical decisions. We combine deep analytical capability with strong business partnership to solve problems that have real impact for customers, colleagues and communities.
As an Advanced Analytics Manager, you'll help shape the future of CommBank's branch network. Using customer, operational and geographic data, you'll develop insights, models and analytical products that inform decisions about branch locations, service design, workforce planning and network investment. You'll work across strategic initiatives and emerging business challenges, partnering with stakeholders to frame problems, identify opportunities and deliver evidence-based recommendations.
Whether you're assessing customer usage patterns, modelling branch performance, analysing demographic trends or exploring new geospatial opportunities, your work will directly influence decisions that impact customers and communities across Australia. Your impact and contribution will include, though not limited to:
- Delivering advanced analytics, modelling and insights to support branch network strategy, planning and investment decisions.
- Analysing customer, operational and geographic data to identify trends, opportunities and business risks.
- Developing and maintaining analytical products, datasets, dashboards and decision-support tools.
- Partnering with business stakeholders to define problems, scope analytical approaches and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Presenting complex analytical outcomes to senior leaders in a clear and compelling manner.
- Contributing to geospatial analytics capabilities that help shape branch footprint and distribution strategies.
- Identifying opportunities to automate processes, improve data quality and increase analytical efficiency.
- Coaching and supporting fellow analysts while promoting best practice analytical techniques across the team.
- Continuously exploring emerging analytical methods, tools and technologies to improve business outcomes.
We're looking for a commercially minded analytics professional who is equally comfortable working with complex data, influencing stakeholders and solving strategic business problems. You'll combine strong technical capability with curiosity, critical thinking and a passion for turning insights into outcomes. To this role, the ideal applicant will bring:
- Significant experience in advanced analytics, business analytics, customer analytics or decision science.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Experience developing analytical solutions that influence strategic business decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex analysis into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Experience using Python or R for analytical, modelling or automation purposes.
- Visualisation experience using Tableau or Power BI.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex and evolving environment.
- Experience in geospatial analytics, network optimisation or location intelligence (highly regarded, though not essential).
At CommBank, you'll be part of a team that uses data, analytics and technology to solve meaningful problems for customers and communities. In this role, your work will influence how we design, invest in and evolve one of Australia's largest branch networks, helping ensure customers can access the services they need where and when they need them.
You'll join a collaborative analytics community that values curiosity, continuous learning and innovation, with access to leading tools, experienced practitioners and opportunities to grow your career. Whether you're building new capabilities, solving complex business challenges or shaping strategic decisions, you'll be empowered to make a genuine impact.
