The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team on a FIFO basis from Perth, working on essential shutdown and maintenance assignments. This role offers the chance to collaborate with top-tier mining companies that operate some of the largest and most technologically advanced iron ore operations in Australia’s Pilbara region, including global industry leaders.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Fitter with RCR, you will:
- Disassemble, overhaul and reassemble gearboxes, pumps, pulleys, valves, screens and other OEM components with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Operate, maintain and service mechanical equipment in accordance with technical standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and detailed work instructions.
- Maintain organised work areas and ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained.
- Contribute ideas to improve tooling, workflows and site conditions.
- Demonstrate a strong safety mindset — wear appropriate PPE, conduct risk assessments and report
Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working on mining sites.
- Mechanical Fitter trade certification
- C-class Australian Driver’s Licence
- Licence to perform High Risk Work
- Entry & Work in Confined Spaces (valid within the past 2 years)
- Working at Heights (valid within the past 2 years)
- Gas Test Atmospheres (valid withing the past 2 years)
- First Attack Firefighting Equipment certification.
