FloorON is a Melbourne-based flooring company providing high-quality residential, commercial and industrial flooring solutions. Based in Brooklyn, Victoria, we service Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, delivering professional epoxy, flake, polyurethane and polyaspartic flooring systems.
Due to continued business growth and increasing project demand, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Floor Finisher – Epoxy Flooring Specialist to join our professional installation team on a permanent full-time basis.
This is a hands-on role suitable for a skilled flooring professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, attention to detail and delivering reliable results. The successful applicant will work across a variety of sites, including residential garages, workshops, warehouses, retail premises, commercial spaces and industrial facilities.
About the role
As a Floor Finisher, you will be responsible for preparing, installing and finishing a range of resin and protective flooring systems. You will work with epoxy, decorative flake, polyurethane and polyaspartic coatings, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high professional standard.
You will work both independently and as part of a team, depending on project requirements. The role may involve travel to various client sites throughout metropolitan Melbourne and surrounding suburbs.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect, measure and assess concrete floor surfaces before commencing work.
- Prepare work areas and calculate the quantity of materials required for each project.
- Carry out concrete grinding, surface cleaning, levelling and preparation works.
- Repair cracks, holes, uneven areas and other concrete surface defects.
- Apply epoxy primers, moisture barriers, base coats and protective floor coatings.
- Install decorative full-flake flooring systems and ensure even flake broadcast coverage.
- Apply polyurethane and polyaspartic topcoats to achieve durable and high-quality finishes.
- Complete non-slip, chemical-resistant and protective flooring systems where required.
- Ensure flooring surfaces are clean, level, accurately finished and ready for client handover.
- Remove and dispose of waste materials safely and maintain clean work areas.
- Safely operate and maintain grinding machines, vacuums, mixing equipment and other tools.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including the safe handling of chemicals and coatings.
- Communicate professionally with team members, site supervisors, contractors and clients.
- Assist with loading, unloading and transporting flooring materials and equipment to project sites.
Skills and experience required
To be considered for this position, applicants should have:
- AQF Certificate III in a relevant trade qualification,
- At least one years of relevant full-time work experience as a Floor Finisher or in a closely related flooring occupation.
- Demonstrated practical experience in epoxy, resin, polyurethane or polyaspartic flooring installation.
- Experience in concrete preparation, including diamond grinding, surface cleaning and crack repair.
- Knowledge of primer, base coat, decorative flake and topcoat application methods.
- Experience working with residential, commercial or industrial flooring projects.
- Ability to measure areas, interpret job specifications and estimate material requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality finishes.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently and contribute effectively within a team.
- Good time-management skills and ability to complete work within project deadlines.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- A current driver licence is preferred.
