Salary - $75,000 - $90,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who enjoys preparing authentic Indian cuisine while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation and food safety in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Prepare, cook and present a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes for dine-in, takeaway and catering services.
- Lead and motivate the kitchen team to consistently deliver exceptional results.
- Plan, develop and update menus in consultation with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Estimate food and labour costs and assist with budgeting, portion control and stock management.
- Order, receive and monitor food supplies, ensuring freshness, quality and minimal wastage.
- Supervise, train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain efficient kitchen operations and high culinary standards.
- Monitor food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation to ensure consistency and quality across all menu items.
- Coordinate food preparation and service to ensure meals are delivered efficiently during busy service periods.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation and workplace health and safety regulations.
This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills and a genuine passion for producing high-quality Indian cuisine in a busy restaurant environment.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Relevant qualification, such as a Diploma of Hospitality Management - Commercial Cookery (or agreed equivalent).
- Minimum of 2-3 years (preferably more) experience as a Chef in a busy restaurant (preferably in Indian cuisine).
- Strong knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques, spices and regional cuisines.
- Experience supervising and mentoring kitchen staff.
- Sound understanding of food costing, stock control and kitchen operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Food Safety, OH&S and HACCP requirements.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining exceptional food quality.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
