We are seeking a qualified and motivated Exercise Scientist to join our Occupational Health team in Royal Park on a full-time basis. This is a varied role combining onsite medical screening, injury-prevention services, workers’ compensation support and occupational health administration.
The Role
As an Occupational Health Assessor, you will deliver high-quality occupational health services to workers and corporate clients. You will conduct workplace health assessments, support injury prevention initiatives and ensure clients receive accurate, timely and professional services.
You will work independently and collaboratively while building trusted relationships with workers, clients and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct onsite occupational health and medical screening services
- Complete functional capacity assessments
- Perform preliminary drug and urine screening, spirometry, ECGs and audiometry
- Support injury-prevention and workplace health initiatives
- Coordinate GP correspondence and follow up according to client requirements
- Arrange medical appointments for injured workers and liaise with relevant stakeholders
- Review assessment results and provide accurate, high-quality reports to clients
- Help workers feel comfortable and supported throughout pre-employment assessments and medical screenings
- Prepare, clean and maintain assessment rooms and clinical equipment
- Ensure clinical rooms are appropriately stocked and equipment is sterilised
- Complete administrative documentation in accordance with accreditation requirements
- Record onsite service time accurately for billing purposes
- Travel to client sites when required
- Maintain safe working practices and promptly report incidents and hazards
About You
- Qualification as an Exercise Scientist or Exercise Physiologist
- Strong commitment to professional and clinical standards
- Ability to conduct assessments accurately and confidently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong relationship-building and customer-service capabilities
- Empathetic and professional approach when supporting clients and workers
- Excellent time-management and prioritisation skills
- Confidence using computer-based systems and applications
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team
- Adaptable, organised and comfortable working across different environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach
