The role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated finance professional to join our team on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract, covering a period of parental leave. As Trust Accountant, you will report directly to the Finance Manager, Mandates, and play a key role in delivering mandate accounting, reporting and tax compliance across a diverse and high-profile portfolio.
What you will be doing
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will take ownership of a broad range of accounting and reporting functions across the mandate portfolio. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end trust accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial reporting obligations. Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and recording monthly head trust accrual journal entries
Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Preparing monthly financial information to support unit pricing and investor reporting
Calculating quarterly management fees and preparing quarterly distribution calculations
Reviewing monthly BAS workings
Preparing quarterly statements of taxable income and annual tax returns
Preparing and monitoring the Mandate reporting timetable to ensure all deadlines are met
Raising purchase orders for head trust expenses and processing service receipts
Responding to queries from external auditors in a timely and professional manner
Supporting special projects and providing ad hoc analysis and reporting as required by the business or investors
What makes you stand out
You are a driven and detail-oriented accounting professional who is eager to join a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You will have:
A Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent degree
CA/CPA qualification underway or nearing completion
2-3 years' experience in professional services and/or an accounting related role
A solid understanding of accounting standards
Great communication skills, both written and verbal
A keen eye for detail and a proactive, can-do attitude
Good time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities
Exposure to SAP and/or HFM would be a bonus, but isn't essential
A background in property and/or funds management would be well regarded, but again, not essential
