The Private Bank Credit Risk Team is a centralised decisioning team that reviews and advises on deals for Commonwealth Private Bank. The team's mandate is to deliver sound credit decisions and services to Commonwealth Private and their customers.
You will be expected to perform the following tasks in a manner consistent with CBA’s Vision, Values and Strategy.
Decision credit applications, exercising sound commercial and consumer judgment while operating within the parameters of your personal delegation and the stated risk appetite.
Demonstrate best practice standards of credit origination, analysis, review and recommendation.
Analysis of industry changes that might impact risk outcomes and ability to recognise and recommend appropriate changes to structuring of credit proposals to control and manage these changes.
Deliver insightful advice to internal clients, working with them to ensure a solutions driven focus for external clients and transactions.
Provide advice and assistance to Bankers and Risk colleagues on the development of strategies to manage, mitigate and price for risk.
Work efficiently and effectively to optimise credit decisioning processes and turnaround times.
Ensure portfolios are appropriately monitored and where necessary ensure action is taken expeditiously where credit deterioration is evident.
Strive for on-going improvement of the Retail Operations culture by actively looking to simplify policies and systems so that Private Bank Risk Team can provide excellent customer service to the Private Bank Business and its customers.

Experience in credit analysis, assessment, submissions and reviews within consumer and commercial lending, including exercising a meaningful delegation ($5mil+) in a major financial institution.
Ability to think outside the box and adapt quickly to new situations.
Ability to provide sound, consistent risk decisions that are in the customers’ best interest.
Confidence and skill to make decisions outside policy where justified.
Awareness of relevant industry issues, which might impact on external and internal credit environments affecting credit quality and recommend appropriate changes to system and/or policies.

Graduate or post graduate degrees in business or finance however applicants with suitable experience but without these qualifications will also be considered
Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA, CA, Finsia, PRMIA, GARP) or studying towards it.
