About the role
Usual duties and responsibilities include:
- Opening and closing the clinic
- Being a positive first point of encounter for patients and clinicians
- Assist with and respond to patient enquiries in a helpful and friendly way reflecting the practice as a quality, customer service-focused medical clinic
- Provide administrative support to GPs and allied health practitioners
- Registering and updating patient details in Best Practice
- Booking and altering appointments in Best Practice
- Processing payment and Medicare rebates
- General cleaning, restocking of doctors rooms with medical supplies
- Understand and maintain clinic confidentiality and patient privacy requirements
- Liaise with other clinics and medical specialists to coordinate care and obtain patient records
- Demonstrate high attention to detail when dealing with patient, clinic and billing information

The successful candidate will have the following specific skills and knowledge required for the job:
- Experience in Medical Reception is preferred
- Best Practice experience is preferred
- HotDoc online booking platform experience
- An understanding of common Medicare items used in general practice and how Medicare billing works
