About the role
Provides nursing/midwifery services within a health service setting, delivering safe and effective patient/client care. Develops professional knowledge and skills through experience, continuous learning, and professional development. Takes accountability for own clinical practice and the care activities delegated to others.
Key duties of the role
Provides person-centred nursing/midwifery care by assessing patient/client needs, coordinating services, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support effective health outcomes.
Participate in quality improvement activities that contribute to patient/client safety, risk minimisation and safe work activities within the practice setting.
Provide health promotion and education, to patients/clients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of individual
Provides support, guidance, and clinical oversight to less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, and students while contributing to safe nursing/midwifery practice and participating in evaluative research activities within the practice setting.
Skills and Experience
Registered as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing/Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and who holds a current practicing certificate.
Enrolled in an approved mental health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice.
Demonstrated competence and knowledge in relevant nursing/midwifery practice standards.
Effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and ability to prioritise workload.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards, ethics, and quality improvement practices.
