About the Role
CMV Truck & Bus has an exciting opportunity for a skilled Technical Trainer to join our Training Institute. This role will see you play a key part in developing apprentice technicians and enhancing the capability of our workforce through structured training and hands-on coaching.
You will design and deliver engaging training programs that build technical skills, support career pathways, and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.
Working from a fully equipped training facility and service workshop located in Derrimut, you will collaborate closely with Service, Predelivery and Senior Leadership teams, while also engaging with external training bodies, RTOs and industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver technical training programs for apprentices and employees
- Facilitate training through classroom delivery, practical workshops, and on-the-job coaching
- Coordinate apprentice onboarding, registration, and inductions
- Liaise with external training providers, RTOs, and industry bodies
- Monitor apprentice progress, attendance, and competency development
- Maintain accurate training records and apprentice files
- Develop and manage training schedules and communicate with stakeholders
- Continuously review and improve training materials and delivery methods
- Support departments with technical guidance and capability development
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Qualifications & Licences
- Automotive Technician (Light or Heavy Vehicle) Certificate III
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE)
- Current Driver’s Licence
- HR/HC Licence (desirable)
Experience & Knowledge
- Strong diagnostic and technical expertise in automotive environments
- Experience within service workshop operations
- Previous training or mentoring experience (highly desirable)
- Exposure to Dealer Management Systems
