Peninsula Vet Emergency & Referral Hospital is a purpose built, 24/7 emergency and referral facility delivering advanced care across Surgery, Anaesthesia and Emergency Care. About the Role
We’re seeking experienced Surgery Veterinary Nurses for full-time or part-time positions, working a rotating roster including evenings, nights, and weekends. This role is ideal for confident nurses who thrive in a fast paced, referral level environment and want to continue developing advanced Surgical skills.
Leadership opportunities are available for experienced nurses ready to step into senior or mentoring roles.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering high level nursing care across Surgical care cases
- Supporting trauma patients, ventilator cases, transfusions, and critical anaesthetics
- Assisting with advanced procedures including chest drains, central lines, and intensive monitoring
- Working closely with ECC specialists, registrars, and Veterinarians in a collaborative team
- Advocating for patients and supporting pet owners through emotionally challenging moments
- Contributing to a positive, skilled, and supportive Surgical nursing culture
What We’re Looking For
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or higher qualification)
- Minimum 2–3 years’ Surgery or advanced GP nursing experience
- Confidence working in a referral level, high acuity environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A calm, adaptable, and patient focused approach
- Genuine enthusiasm for learning, growth, and clinical excellence
