About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Strategic Supply Manager – Convenience to lead the end-to-end supply strategy for our Convenience business. This critical role is responsible for ensuring security of supply, optimising supplier and grower performance, managing supply risk, and delivering cost-effective, reliable supply solutions that support customer growth and operational excellence.
Reporting to the General Manager - Strategic Supply, you will work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Sales, Logistics and key customers to deliver outstanding service levels while balancing cost, quality, and inventory performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute supply strategies that ensure continuity of supply across raw materials and finished goods.
- Lead integrated supply planning activities, aligning supply capability with demand forecasts, production plans, and S&OP processes.
- Build and manage strategic supplier and grower partnerships, including contract negotiations, performance management, and risk mitigation.
- Deliver cost stability through proactive sourcing, contract management, and supply chain optimisation initiatives.
- Implement and maintain supply risk management frameworks, contingency plans, and business continuity strategies.
- Partner with Quality and Operations teams to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and traceability requirements.
- Optimise inventory, working capital, shelf-life management, and waste reduction across perishable product categories.
- Drive logistics and network efficiency initiatives to improve service, reduce costs, and maintain product integrity.
- Collaborate with Sales and customers to support promotional activity, category growth, and service excellence.
- Leverage data, analytics, and ERP systems to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
Skills and Experiences:
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Agriculture, Logistics, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in supply chain, sourcing, procurement, planning, or supply management roles.
- Experience within fresh produce, fresh food, FMCG, manufacturing, or other perishable product environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing supplier and grower relationships, including commercial negotiations and contract management.
- Strong understanding of supply planning, inventory management, forecasting, and S&OP processes.
- Proven ability to identify and mitigate supply chain risks and manage business continuity plans.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience using ERP/MRP systems and supply chain reporting tools.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, traceability, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
- Proven people leadership and cross-functional collaboration capability.
