About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our maintenance team at our Adelaide manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving plant and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient manufacturing operations.
This role requires strong fault-finding ability, preventative maintenance experience and a commitment to minimising downtime while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs to minimise production downtime.
- Install, commission and modify manufacturing equipment.
- Repair and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Replace bearings, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, pumps and other mechanical components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and maintenance documentation.
- Conduct machinery inspections and complete preventative maintenance schedules.
- Perform welding and fabrication work where required.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure all work complies with WHS policies, Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and company safety standards.
- Complete maintenance records using the company’s maintenance management system.
- Work collaboratively with production, engineering and maintenance teams.
Skills & Experience
The successful applicant will possess:
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter) or equivalent trade qualification.
- Current Australian Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate.
- Minimum 3 years’ post-trade experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience maintaining automated production machinery.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps and mechanical drive systems.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment and mechanical hand tools.
- Ability to diagnose faults and work independently.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Desirable
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Forklift Licence.
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence.
- Experience working within Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement environments.
- Basic PLC fault-finding experience.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, or 3.30pm - 12am with reasonable overtime as required.
