About the team
The Ministerial and Parliamentary Services team provides a range of services to support our Minister, the SafeWork Commissioner, and Senior Executives across the organisation. We are the central point of contact and coordination for ministerial and parliamentary requests, and play a critical role in ensuring the quality, consistency and timeliness of SafeWork NSW responses and advice in relation to highly sensitive ministerial, parliamentary and other matters.
This represents an exciting opportunity to work closely with SafeWork NSW Senior Executives and the Minister’s Office to support SafeWork NSW’s effective engagement with Ministerial and Parliamentary processes and the delivery of better work health and safety outcomes for the people of NSW.
About the role:
Support and assist the delivery of high-quality Ministerial and Parliamentary matters and services across a range of sensitive, urgent and complex issues, in close consultation with key stakeholders, to facilitate the delivery of business operations.
Your responsibilities will include
- This role operates in a fact paced, high volume environment and is responsible for supporting the coordination, preparation (including drafting briefings, correspondence, advice etc) and delivery of responses to parliamentary, ministerial and other ad hoc requests across a range of complex, technical and sensitive issues.
- You will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders to support coordinated, consistent and timely service delivery and outputs.
- You will also be responsible for supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of procedures, systems, processes and guidance documentation.

- possess strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to adjust communication style for diverse audiences and a high-level of attention to detail
- have strong time management skills and an exceptional ability to prioritise requests in a high volume-environment
- excellent relationships building skills and the ability to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- model and promote the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
An understanding of the NSW WHS regulatory framework, eApprovals and prior experience in a similar role are highly desirable.
