Experience required:
- Formal Qualifications in Cookery and Hospitality are preferred at Diploma or higher level.
- Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience as a Chef.
- Great work ethics Time management and organization skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication to meet deadlines.
- Ensure efficient kitchen operations.
The ideal candidate will be expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for overseeing the kitchen operation of the business and coordinate the work of cooks and kitchen hand staff.
- Develop menus, estimate food, Labor costs, and order food supplies.
- Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays.
- Prepare and cook food by range of methods.
- Explaining and ensuring adherence to hygiene regulations.
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation and production.
- Ensure the quality of dishes is maintained during all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Collaborate with the Manager and kitchen staff to discuss food preparation issues.
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on procedures.
- Often train cooks and other food preparation workers.
- Responsible for monitoring served portions, food consumption and waste control to minimise the wastage without compromising 100% customer satisfaction.
- Check freshness of food and ingredients.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
- Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies.
