Sydney Child Development Specialists is a multidisciplinary paediatric clinic located on Sydney’s North Shore. Our team includes developmental paediatricians and allied health professionals, including psychologists and speech pathologists.
We provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and ongoing care for children with developmental concerns, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delay, speech and language delays, learning difficulties and related paediatric concerns.
Our clinic is located in Lindfield, a 2-minute walk from Lindfield train station, with ample all-day street parking nearby.
The Role
This is an entry-level position. Prior experience will be highly regarded, but we are primarily looking for a proactive, reliable and detail-oriented person who can help create a warm, friendly and organised environment for the children and families attending our clinic.
This role may suit candidates currently studying in a field related to paediatric care, psychology, speech pathology or OT
The role will assist with the day-to-day operations of the clinic, including:
- Making, rescheduling and confirming appointments
- Ensuring patient preparation is completed prior to appointments
- Managing phone calls and emails
- Scanning, filing and maintaining patient records
- Billing, receipting and processing patient accounts
- Performing general administrative duties
- Supporting process improvement and clinic workflows
- Maintaining a tidy, clean and welcoming clinic environment
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer-facing role
- Previous experience as an administrative assistant in a medical or allied health clinic, highly regarded but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to identify and resolve day-to-day issues
- Good organisational skills and ability to follow processes
- Competence with Microsoft 365 and general IT systems
- A warm, professional and patient manner when interacting with children and families
Desirable
- Interest in paediatrics, child development, psychology, speech pathology, allied health or healthcare administration
- Familiarity with medical practice software, Medicare billing or patient management systems
- Ability to work calmly in a busy clinical environment

You will be someone who is organised, dependable and willing to learn. You should be comfortable communicating with families, clinicians and other team members, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
