About the role
GEO Healthcare provides primary healthcare to men in Public Prisons across Victoria. The Manager, AOD Health Services is responsible for leading the AOD Network in the delivery of best practice AOD medical support and AOD harm reduction and health programs.
The position is also responsible to ensure AOD health service continuity at all GEO Healthcare locations as well as program integrity, quality assurance and continuous improvement of AOD Health Services.
The Manager, AOD Health Services provides leadership in the establishment of a workplace culture based on best practice medical support and health programs.
The role requires the incumbent to perform all duties in accordance with the GEO Healthcare Values.
The Manager, AOD Health Services provides professional support and supervision in regard to the provision of AOD health services to these positions. The AOD Team Leaders, AOD Program Facilitators and AOD Program Support Officers report operationally to the Area Managers, Clinical Services.

Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant tertiary health qualification such as Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or Nursing; and extensive experience in the AOD health and/or program sectors.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency in Psychology or Nursing or professional membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers or Australian Counselling Organisation is desirable.
- Extensive experience in the delivery of AOD health services in the primary health or mental health sectors, including leadership roles with service system oversight.
- Experience in leadership roles that included a focus on risk assessment and management, implementation of quality assurance systems and continuous improvement processes, management of key performance indicators and high-level service coordination.
- Experience building effective service delivery teams and networks, community partnerships and stakeholder relationships.
- Experience developing high performance teams to meet Key Performance Measures.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyse service data and produce high level internal and stakeholder reports.
- Proven ability to organise and prioritise effectively.
- Solid communication, teamwork and people skills, to ensure relationships are established and maintained with relevant staff and stakeholders to support high quality services and professional practice.
- Appropriate understanding and skills in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and willingness to promote cultural awareness.
- Demonstrated commitment to GEO Healthcare values.
- Experience in a complex, multi-site health service business(Desirable).
Other Requirements of the role:
- Ability to work within a correctional setting, which may involve direct contact with prisoners associated with the delivery of healthcare.
- Valid and current full Australian driver’s licence.
- Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required.
