Austral Construction specializes in high-scale piling and civil engineering operations for the mining and infrastructure sectors.
A Field Service Mechanic at Austral Construction is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy construction and mining equipment, primarily on remote project sites in Western Australia's Pilbara region. The role is usually a full-time FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) position on a 2-weeks-on, 1-week-off (2/1) roster.
Typical duties include:
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
Performing scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance.
Responding to equipment breakdowns on land and marine project sites.
Rebuilding and overhauling heavy machinery components.
Completing maintenance records and following safety procedures.
Working on hydraulic systems, diesel engines, pumps, and other construction equipment.
Requirements:
Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Mobile Plant, Hydraulic Fluid Power, or Plant Maintenance.
Around 5 years of post-trade experience.
Strong hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Current driver's licence and commitment to workplace safety.
Pay: $11,700.00 – $15,000.00 per month
