AUSTRALIA NETWORK SERVICES PTY LTD is looking for an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to work within our client’s construction projects, including residential homes, commercial buildings, and public spaces across Sydney.
This is a full-time position, where you will work as part of a supportive and multidisciplinary team.
Position: Wall and Floor Tiler – Full-Time
Salary: A$90,000 – A$98,000 per annum plus superannuation
Work Location: In person
What We Are Looking For
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Certificate IV in Wall and Floor Tiling
- At least 2 years of proven experience working as a tiler
- Good knowledge of tiling methods, techniques, and materials
- Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Good physical fitness and stamina
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and priming them to ensure proper tile adhesion.
- Tile Selection and Layout: Select suitable tiles based on project and design requirements and arrange them according to specified layouts, plans, or patterns.
- Tile Cutting: Measure and cut tiles accurately using appropriate tools to fit around pipes, corners, edges, and other obstacles.
- Adhesive Application: Prepare and evenly apply adhesives, mortar, or other bonding materials to surfaces before installation.
- Tile Installation: Position and install tiles carefully in the required rows or patterns, ensuring correct alignment and spacing.
- Grouting: Apply grout between tiles to achieve a clean finished appearance and help protect against moisture penetration.
- Sealing: Apply appropriate sealants to tiled surfaces to protect against stains, water damage, and general wear.
- Quality Inspection: Inspect completed tiling work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project specifications.
- Repair and Maintenance: Replace damaged tiles, perform re-grouting, and carry out general maintenance to keep tiled surfaces in good condition.
- Health and Safety: Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment to minimise the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally with clients to understand their requirements, respond to concerns, and provide suitable recommendations.
