Mackay Regional Council is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanic at our Paget Workshop, where you'll gain practical experience while building a rewarding career in the automotive industry.
As an Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will gain hands-on experience maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment while working alongside experienced tradespeople in a supportive learning environment.

Timeframe and Qualification:
This is a 4-year apprenticeship. On completion you will obtain a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
This is an apprenticeship and is ideal for school leavers, those new to the industry or seeking a career change. Eligibility criteria apply if you hold existing qualifications in this area.

Council is committed to the safety of its employees and requires an immunisation program for identified roles. The successful applicant will be required to attend a post-employment immunisation assessment, by a health practitioner nominated and paid for by the Council.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake a pre-employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol test as part of the onboarding process.
