The Role:
As an Assistant Kitchen Manager, you'll assist and support the Kitchen Manager in the efficient and profitable operation of the restaurant; ensuring the restaurant is operating in accordance to set Company requirements, specifically ensuring the Company culture is instilled and maintained.
The Assistant Kitchen Manager assumes all duties of the Kitchen Manager in the Kitchen Manager’s absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Kitchen Manager in delivering and maintaining a superior level of service and product standards to ensure optimum customer satisfaction (i.e. quality product, customer feedback, guest satisfaction, store ambience).
- Assist in the effective management of daily restaurant operations as outlined by Company policies, procedures and standards (i.e. checklists, cleaning rosters).
- Effectively manage restaurant costs including the maintenance of adequate stock levels and the management of employee labour costs.
- Ensure the Restaurant/Kitchen and employees are compliant with Food Safety and Work Health & Safety standards and associated government legislation.
- Ensure the effective maintenance and bench building of skilled employee levels through effective recruitment, training, supervision, performance and termination of employees within Company set culture and standards.
- Ensure all employees are trained in accordance with their specific job role and set Company training guidelines.
- Proactively drive succession and employee development as per set Company standard.
Requirements:
- Previous experience with Italian cuisine preferred, including fresh pasta and woodfire pizza oven experience.
- Minimum of 2 years management experience in a similar role/restaurant environment.
- Interest, skill and success in the restaurant industry.
- Knowledge of Industrial Legislation (HR/WH&S).
- Advanced leadership approach and technique.
- Effective planning and time management skills.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge and experience of employee management including recruitment, training and development.
- Current FSS certificate.
- Excellent personal hygiene and presentation.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
