About the Opportunity
We're looking for a Category Manager to join Total Tools on a 12-month fixed-term contract, leading an established category within our Merchandise team.
In this role, you'll take ownership of category performance across range, pricing, promotions and supplier management, helping to deliver strong commercial outcomes and a compelling offer for our customers. You'll work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, introduce new products, and drive category growth.
This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of a category while working within a collaborative team environment. It's well suited to a commercially minded Category Manager who enjoys balancing supplier relationships, data-driven decision making, and hands-on category management.
This role is based across our Port Melbourne and Heatherton National Support Offices.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own and manage an established category, delivering sales, margin and range performance objectives
- Develop and execute category plans aligned to customer needs and business priorities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, supporting commercial negotiations and business planning activities
- Manage pricing, promotional and ranging activities to drive category performance
- Analyse sales results, customer trends and market activity to identify opportunities for growth
- Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, Merchandise and Store Operations to deliver category initiatives and campaigns
- Monitor category performance and make recommendations to improve customer and commercial outcomes
You’re Likely a Match If You Have
- Experience as a Category Manager within a retail, wholesale or FMCG environment
- Experience managing product categories and delivering commercial outcomes
- Strong supplier relationship management and negotiation skills
- Commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and identify opportunities for growth
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the business
