Embroidery Machine Operator

We're a busy garment decoration business in Marrickville producing embroidered apparel for schools and corporate clients across Australia. We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Embroidery Machine Operator to join our team.
About the role
You'll be operating multi-head commercial embroidery machines across a high-volume production floor. Day-to-day, this means hooping garments, loading designs, running machines, monitoring quality, and preparing completed orders for dispatch.
Responsibilities
- Operate multi-head Tajima embroidery machines: hooping, loading designs, thread changes, machine setup
- Monitor production runs and catch quality issues early (thread breaks, misalignment, puckering)
- Trim, check and finish embroidered garments
- Count, fold and pack completed orders against production sheets
- Keep the workspace organised and machines maintained (basic cleaning, oiling)
About you
- Experience with commercial embroidery machines (Tajima, Barudan or similar) strongly preferred, but we'll train the right person
- Good attention to detail — our clients expect consistent quality
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting cartons of garments
- Reliable and punctual; able to work independently once trained
- Mandarin language skills a bonus, not required
