About us
Eight Ball Tech Group is an Australian managed service provider that manages the technology, security, and AI capabilities for corporate and professional services clients. We sit at the point where solid, reliable IT support meets genuinely useful automation — we run the helpdesk, we harden the infrastructure, and we design and build the AI solutions that make our clients' businesses run better.
We're growing, and we're looking for a sharp recent graduate who wants to learn both halves of that picture: real-world IT support and applied AI.
The opportunity
This is a rare role that blends two worlds.
On the EBTG side, you'll learn the fundamentals of how a professional MSP runs — handling Level 1 helpdesk tickets, running remote sessions, writing clean documentation, reviewing and understanding code, and contributing to our own internal tools and AI solutions.
On the client side, you'll eventually be embedded two days a week onsite with one of our key clients in the Sydney CBD — a professional services firm. There, you'll learn the fundamentals of their domain (including tax practice) well enough to research, design, analyse and build AI solutions and automations for both their internal teams and their own clients. You'll also be the person who keeps up with the latest in AI and turns that knowledge into workshops and training sessions that bring others along with you.
You'll be supported, mentored and given room to grow — but you'll also be trusted to represent us professionally in front of large corporations and senior stakeholders from early on.
What you'll be doing
Level 1 IT support & helpdesk
- Working through support tickets, troubleshooting, and resolving Level 1 issues end to end
- Running remote support sessions with clients and end users
- Writing and maintaining clear, accurate documentation
- Escalating thoughtfully when an issue needs a higher tier
AI solutions — research, design & build
- Researching, designing, analysing and building AI solutions and automations for internal use and for clients
- Working hands-on with LLMs and modern AI tooling to solve real business problems
- Reviewing, understanding and analysing code as part of building and maintaining these solutions
Client engagement & enablement
- Spending time onsite with our Sydney CBD client, learning their business (including tax practices) deeply enough to build genuinely useful solutions
- Running workshops and training sessions to educate teams on AI tools, capabilities and best practices
- Staying across the latest advancements in AI and translating them into practical guidance
Internal solutions
- Contributing to EBTG's own internal tools, automations and AI projects
What we're looking for
We care more about how you think, communicate and learn than about a long CV. You'll be a strong fit if you can tick most of these:
- You present and carry yourself professionally. You're comfortable in front of large corporations, senior stakeholders and managers, and you make a good impression.
- You communicate clearly at every level. You can explain the same thing to a non-technical stakeholder, a busy manager, and a technical specialist — and pitch it right for each of them.
- You understand Level 1 IT support. You have a solid grasp of common Level 1 frameworks, issues, problems, solutions and technologies, and you know how to work a ticket.
- You understand AI. You have a solid foundational understanding of AI and LLMs — how they work, how AI solutions are designed and developed, and how they're used well (and where they aren't).
- You learn fast. You adapt quickly to new situations, absorb information thoroughly, and you're genuinely keen to learn and upskill.
- You're patient, thoughtful and kind. You treat clients, colleagues and end users with care — especially when they're stressed or non-technical.
Nice to have (not essential):
- Some coding experience or coursework, and comfort reading and reasoning about code
- An interest in professional services, finance or tax
- Any exposure to MSP tools, IT support platforms, or cloud (Microsoft 365 / Azure)
