Digital Art Mentor / Illustrator (Support Role)
We are looking for a friendly, patient, and creative Digital Artist or Illustrator to work one-on-one with a young autistic adult who has a strong passion for painting and digital art.
This is an ideal role for a university student, freelance illustrator, digital artist, or anyone who enjoys sharing their creative skills in a supportive environment.
Location
- Home-based in Kellyville
- Approximately a 6-minute walk from Kellyville Metro Station
Hours
- 2 hours per week
- Saturday or Sunday
- 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
About the Role
You will:
- Work one-on-one in a relaxed home setting.
- Teach and encourage digital art using Photoshop, an iPad, and other digital drawing software.
- Support creative exploration while helping develop artistic and digital design skills.
- Be patient, positive, and encouraging, adapting your teaching style to suit the individual's learning needs.
- Help build confidence and enjoyment through art.
Essential Requirements
- Strong digital art and illustration skills.
- Proficiency with Photoshop, iPad drawing apps, and other digital illustration software.
- Patient, reliable, and compassionate.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- A digital art portfolio showcasing your work
- Experience working with autistic individuals or people with disabilities (preferred but not essential).
- Background in digital illustration, graphic design, fine arts, animation, or a related creative field.
Mandatory Before Starting
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Current National Police Check.
