About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.
We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, traditional custodians of the land surrounding Cadia, and proudly run an Indigenous Buddy Program to enrich the workplace experience our Indigenous employees. Who we're looking for
As Team Lead Environment, you will lead Cadia's environmental monitoring function, providing technical direction, oversight and leadership across a diverse range of monitoring programs that underpin the operation's environmental performance and regulatory compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Environmental Advisor seeking to take the next step in their career. While strong technical expertise in environmental monitoring is essential, we are equally interested in candidates who enjoy mentoring others, building capability and influencing positive environmental outcomes across a complex operational environment.
You will be responsible for the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of site-wide monitoring programs covering air quality, water, noise, blasting and meteorological monitoring. Through the effective management of monitoring systems, environmental data and specialist contractors, you will help ensure Cadia maintains high standards of environmental stewardship while providing critical insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.
Leading a team of environmental monitoring professionals, you will work closely with operational leaders, regulators, technical specialists and community stakeholders to ensure monitoring programs remain robust, compliant and aligned to industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead the development, delivery and continuous improvement of site-wide environmental monitoring programs.

Provide technical leadership and oversight across environmental monitoring, data management and compliance reporting activities.

Ensure environmental data is accurate, reliable and effectively communicated to support operational and regulatory decision-making.

Mentor, coach and develop team capability while fostering a strong safety and performance culture.

Manage specialist consultants and contractors to deliver monitoring programs safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements.

Identify opportunities to enhance monitoring systems, processes and technologies to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

Provide subject matter expertise to environmental planning, approvals, compliance obligations and reporting requirements.

Build strong working relationships across operations, technical services, projects and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate
You are a technically capable environmental professional with a passion for environmental monitoring and a desire to lead and develop others. You bring a collaborative approach, strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to translate complex environmental information into practical solutions.
You will also bring:

Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.

Demonstrated experience delivering environmental monitoring programs, environmental data management and compliance reporting.

Experience working within mining, resources, infrastructure or other complex industrial environments.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Experience leading projects, coordinating contractors or mentoring team members.

A commitment to safety, continuous improvement and environmental stewardship.
Please note this is a residential 5/2 or 5/2-4/3 role based in Orange NSW and it is envisioned that the successful candidate will have unrestricted working rights.
