We are seeking a support worker to assist a male client in Berwick VIC 3806. The client requires support in daily living activities, personal care, and community participation. While the shift will be led by a primary carer, this position demands a high degree of responsibility, attention to detial, initiative, and responsive communication to ensure safe and consistent support for the client.
POSITION SUMMMARY
· Disability home care support provided at the client’s home.
· Casual
· $34-$38 per hour (weekdays/standard rate), weekend and evening will add penalty accordingly
· Willingness to take a Sleepover shift in a week
. Experience in high intensive care preferred.
. A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle are required. (with comprehensive insurance cover)
POSITION OBJECTIVES
This position is responsible for supporting people with disabilities using best health and safety practice approaches, complying with relevant legislation, and reporting any known breaches to the line manager. The person fulfilling this role should understand the nature of risks, such as OH&S and client risks, and the importance of complying with service standards to ensure the highest possible quality of support. This position requires the ability to work independently and as a member of a team to coordinate quality service for all service users.
Demonstrated skills required are:
· In conjunction with the supervisor to provide flexible and responsive support to people who experience disabilities, including families or carers as appropriate.
· Work in collaboration with the client, carer/family on addressing home care duties and personal support as required (may include duties as below, but not limited)
- Daily living tasks (includes feeding, cooking, cleaning and doing laundry)
- Hygiene tasks (It may include personal care, shower and toileting)
- Transportation
- Shopping
- Medication administration (if it is required)
- Community participation
- Assistance in building client self-image and self-confidence.
· Work closely with the Supervisor to develop Person-centred Plans in conjunction with clients, to assist them to identify and work towards their personal goals.
· Ensure support practice is consistent with relevant legislative, policy and service standard frameworks.
· Participate in activities with key stakeholders and liaise with disability services in relation to individual clients and service development.
- Providing attentive and careful support in close proximity to the client.
- Maintaining critical client documentation, including incident reports, progress reports, and an overnight seizure diary.

· Certificate III in Disability (or above) or other relevant qualification or working towards obtaining qualification within 12 months
· Australian Work permitted visa.
· Valid Australian Driver’s License and have a reliable vehicle.
· Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate and CPR.
· Clearance of NDIS worker screening check (equivalent to national criminal check)
· Capacity to work flexible hours –including evening, sleepovers and weekend work is required.
