The Role
We’re seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our development team.
As part of a cross-functional team, you’ll help design, build, and deploy reliable, scalable software that directly impacts thousands of customers every day.
You’ll work with, and be supported by, Senior Software Engineers and Software Engineers as you build your skills across web and mobile platforms.
Please note: this role may occasionally require after-hours or weekend support on a rostered basis.
What You’ll Do
Software Development:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions using modern technologies.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers to understand technical designs and contribute your own ideas.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality.
- Work with product managers, designers, and QA throughout the full delivery lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with external systems.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing systems.
- Suggest improvements to processes, tools, and code structure.
Problem-Solving & Innovation:
- Develop your problem-solving skills with guidance from senior engineers in your team.
- Communicate clearly and coordinate effectively when completing tasks.
About You
You’re a curious, motivated developer who enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, and working as part of a collaborative team.
You’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following:
- Python
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- React / React Native
- Understanding of SQL databases (MySQL or MariaDB a plus).
- Great communication and teamwork skills.
- A drive to learn, improve, and take ownership of your work.
