As an
Operations Controller with a focus on electrical engineering, you will join Neoen's state-of-the-art Operations Control Centre in Canberra. You will play a critical role in monitoring, controlling, and optimizing Neoen’s renewable energy assets, leveraging your expertise in power systems, energy markets, and advanced technologies.
This position offers the opportunity to combine real-time operational responsibilities with the application of electrical engineering principles to enhance asset performance and ensure safe, efficient operations.
Your role will include:

Monitor and control Neoen’s renewable energy assets via SCADA systems, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

React to real-time events in the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM), addressing system alerts and notifications.

Interface with Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs), AEMO, and other entities to manage outages, generation constraints, and production/network conditions.

Analyse and optimise electrical performance, including power flow and dispatch solutions.

Interpret technical specifications, drawings, and regulations for power generation equipment.

Collaborate with the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team to maximise asset availability and efficiency.

Monitor and respond to market activities using AEMO systems, ensuring compliance and maximising dispatch outcomes.

Execute re-bidding strategies to optimise energy generation based on prevailing market conditions.

Produce and contribute to operational reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for internal and external stakeholders.

Use tools like MATLAB, VBA, Power BI, and Tableau to analyse operational data and develop solutions to enhance performance.

Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for OCC systems, procedures, and performance metrics.
As part of the 24/7 Control Centre team, you will contribute to:

Writing and maintaining up to date departmental procedures and guides under the lead of Market Managers and Asset Managers;

Bidding and maintaining compliance of all assets;

Maintaining operational relationships with O&M Contractors, AEMO, TNSPs, Governments, off takers and PPA representatives, as required;

Implementing bid strategies given prevailing and expected market outcomes;

Coordinating specific maintenance and outage performance on behalf of the Asset Manager, including communication with Contractor, TNSP and AEMO;

Analysing assets operational data and providing first line reports to the revenue management and asset management teams both within Australia and globally;

Continuous improvement of OCC systems, functions and procedures to deliver increased performance based on Key Performance Indicators.
