Some of your responsibilities will include:
Implementing the department's Cultural Heritage Process Manual and cultural heritage policies across multiple project delivery teams, providing cultural heritage advice and management services as part of the implementation of regional programs, including the planning, design, construction and maintenance of QTRIP projects and associated regional operations.
Promoting, foster and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Traditional Owner groups, concerned with the management of cultural heritage relevant to the department's interest.
Providing technical advice to the department and its stakeholders on relevant legislation, departmental policy, procedures, and requirements for cultural heritage management.
Undertaking cultural heritage risk assessments and preparing reports, management plans and agreements regarding cultural heritage matters relevant to the department's interests and requirements.
Organising and participating in cultural heritage field work including surveys, studies, monitoring and regular project inspections and audits.
Managing cultural heritage services provided by consultants, including the development of project briefs, procurement and contract administration.
Assisting with the project management of the regional Heritage Preservation Element including financial planning and reporting, accruals, business case and fund requests.
Developing and implementing new systems and procedures to improve cultural heritage management performance within regional operations and also within the wider Department.
Identifying, developing and delivering training packages to ensure that relevant stakeholders have an awareness of cultural heritage management requirements.
Participating in and representing the department on various external working groups/committees. Working collaboratively as part of the Environmental and Cultural Heritage team and contribute to the team's identified responsibilities and behaviours.
Undertaking a mentoring and leadership role to facilitate development of team members and other officers (as necessary) within the department.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
Degree qualification from a tertiary institute in cultural heritage management, archaeology, anthropology, social science, or an equivalent qualification.
Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
A current Class 'C' Drivers Licence Requirements of the role
Ability to conduct cultural heritage assessments and advise stakeholders on legislative requirements.
Demonstrate respect and appreciation for legislation and policy frameworks by consistently operating to key standards.
Ability to think critically and act on the broader purpose of the system through prioritising projects and tasks efficiently in line with team commitments.
Ability to build rapport and establish strong and mutually beneficial connections.
Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, succinct and deliberate manner, adjusting the message so that it resonates with different stakeholders.
