Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites, 38 antenatal/postnatal rooms and a Level 2 Special Care Nursery are available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As a Registered Nurse/Midwife, your responsibilities will include:

To provide quality nursing care by Assessing, Planning, Implementing and evaluating individual patient and new born care.

To provide a standard of care according to the individual’s level of experience and education maintaining high quality nursing care within a safe environment.

To develop and utilise strategies that encourage an atmosphere conducive to effective communication.

To work in partnership with patients and families in decision-making regarding provision of care promoting beneficial relationships

When required, working within the postnatal ward
Essential Criteria:
-
Current Registration with AHPRA
-
At least 2 years post graduate experience in Neonatal Intensive Care or Special Care Nursery experience
-
Demonstrated ability to work independently and unsupervised in the Special Care Nursery
-
Working with Children check
-
Commitment to Quality Patient Care

Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Works well independently and within a team

Intermediate computer skills
