Doherty’s Drainage are a Melbourne based civil contractor specialising in the construction of stormwater drainage systems. We work predominantly throughout the northern and western growth corridors on green fields developments and road projects.
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced excavator operator to work within one of our drainage crews.
The successful applicant will ideally possess the following:
- Knowledge of civil and road construction
- CIC/white card/red card
- Current driver’s license
- Excavator operators’ ticket
- Experience working on drainage or sewer projects
- Ability to use a range of attachments including rock breakers
- Experience with deep trenching and rock excavation
- Reliable with good attitude towards work
Responsibilities will include:
- Operating excavators from 5-tonne to 75-tonne
- Assisting drainage crews with the broader project, duties not solely limited to operation of heavy equipment
- Trenching and excavation works
- Lifting and placing pipes, pits, and other precast concrete items
- Backfilling and compacting trenches
- Basic machine maintenance activities (greasing, checking fluids etc.)
