We are seeking academic tutors to work with us during the school terms. We are looking for candidates that can tutorthe following subjects:
- Primary school (English and Maths)
- High school English
- High school Mathematics
- High school Science, Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics
- TAFE/University Electrical, Engineering
- University level writing/composition, Mathematics, Science
- Other HSC or academic subjects
- Languages, including Chinese, Spanish, or Italian
The job will involve working one-on-one with students in the subject area(s) of your speciality, and can involve teaching subject matter, assisting with homework, planning for assignments, and general academic assistance and guidance to the student.
The job is performed at our location in Berkeley Vale and/or Wyong. This is NOT a remote job, and this job does NOT require you to travel to clients' homes. You must be able to reliably commute to our location for your scheduled work times.
The job is on a subcontractor basis, so you will retain a degree of choice in regards to how much you work and on what days and times you would like to work. Most work is primarily in the afternoons and evenings and sometimes available in the mornings and weekends, and primarily during the school terms. Once you take on clients at specific days and times, it is expected that you remain consistent with your students week to week during the school term.
Experience is preferred. At a minimum, we require that our tutors have completed the HSC (or equivalent) and are undertaking or have completed tertiary education, preferably in the subject of their expertise. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills and should be punctual and responsible.
Candidates will need a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and ABN. These can be obtained after applying for the position, but must be obtained before starting work.
Job Type: Subcontract
Pay: $27.00 – $37.00 per hour
