About the Role

At Schlam, engineering doesn't stop once a design is released.
This role gives you the opportunity to work closely with customers, site personnel, project teams and internal stakeholders to solve problems, improve products and deliver practical engineering outcomes that make a real difference in the field. One week you might be investigating an equipment issue and working with the engineering team to develop a solution. The next, you'll be collaborating with customers and account managers to identify opportunities for product improvements or supporting the delivery of a new design from concept through to operation.
Best of all, you'll get to see the impact of your work first-hand. Design a solution today, walk through the workshop and watch it being built next month, then see it head out the gate and onto a mine site shortly after.
What you'll be doing
- Working with customers and internal stakeholders to understand operational challenges and develop engineering solutions.
- Supporting the design, development and refinement of mining equipment and products.
- Investigating equipment failures and performance issues and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Researching and evaluating design concepts, specifications and product enhancements.
- Collaborating with engineering, projects and operations teams to deliver projects from concept through to implementation
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, new product development and productivity improvements.
- Building strong relationships with customers and helping identify opportunities to enhance product performance.

What we're looking for:
- Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent experience
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of heavy mobile equipment and manufacturing processes.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- Experience with engineering design and project delivery.
- A genuine interest in continuous improvement and product development.
