SkillQuest Solutions are seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager on behalf of our client, a highly regarded quick-service food retail business, based in Bendigo, Victoria. Specialising in fresh donuts and coffee, this high-volume retail outlet is known for its fast-paced environment, strong customer service focus and excellent food products, servicing both local customers and visitors throughout the day and into the evenings.
We are currently seeking a hands-on Retail Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient operation of this busy retail store.
Position – Retail Manager (General)

Salary - $70,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and customer-focused Retail Manager to lead a busy retail food operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations, leading staff, maintaining service standards and supporting sales growth within a fast-paced retail environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Oversee the daily operations of the retail store, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of customer service.
· Manage and support retail staff, including roster preparation, performance monitoring and workplace training.
· Monitor sales performance and assist in implementing strategies to improve revenue and customer engagement.
· Maintain appropriate stock levels, coordinate stock ordering and monitor inventory control procedures.
· Ensure products are displayed attractively and promotional activities are implemented effectively within the store.
· Respond to customer enquiries and resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
· Assist in monitoring store budgets, expenses and operational costs to support business profitability.
· Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, food safety procedures and company policies.
· Coordinate opening and closing procedures, cash handling and daily operational reporting.
· Liaise with suppliers and production team regarding stock availability, product quality and operational requirements.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
· Relevant qualification, such as a Diploma of Retail Management (or agreed equivalent).
· Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) experience as a Retail Manager, ideally in a fast-paced retail or food service environment.
· Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating staff.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Experience with stock control, merchandising and sales reporting.
· Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume customer environment.
· Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
· Flexible across weekdays, weekend and public holidays, including early starts or late nights.
· You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
