About Suzy's
Suzy's is Perth's most exciting new venue — a place where great food, hand-crafted cocktails, and genuine good energy come together at the water's edge in Hillarys Boat Harbour. We are a venue built around beautifully presented share plates, handmade pizzas, fresh pasta, quality drinks, and a genuine atmosphere — the kind of place where people come to relax, have fun, and leave already planning their next visit. We hold ourselves to a high standard across everything we do, and that runs from the front door all the way through to the kitchen. We haven't even opened yet and the anticipation has already exceeded our expectations — we cannot wait to get started.
The Role
We are looking for a Sous Chef who brings both technical ability and the right attitude to the table. This is a hands-on leadership role working closely with the Head Chef to maintain the quality and consistency our guests expect, while helping to shape a kitchen culture that reflects the broader Suzy's experience. Day to day, you will be across prep and service, leading the team through busy periods, managing the pan section, and contributing to the execution of our share plate and pasta-focused menu. When the Head Chef is away, you will run the kitchen with confidence. Beyond the cooking, you will play a real part in setting the standard — for the food, for the team, and for the energy in the kitchen.
What We Are Looking For
We are after someone with solid experience at Sous Chef level, or a Senior Chef de Partie who is ready to step up. You should be comfortable working in a high-volume environment while keeping a close eye on presentation and detail — our food needs to look as good as it tastes. A background in Italian cuisine, pizza, or the pan section is a bonus, but we're open to strong candidates from any culinary background. Personality matters here just as much as what's on your CV. Suzy's has built a strong and loyal community before we have even opened our doors, and we take that seriously. We need someone who understands the role they play in upholding that reputation — not just through the food, but through the culture they help create in the kitchen. We want someone who communicates well, leads by example, and genuinely cares about the people they work alongside.
