Position Title: English Tutor (Years 7–12)

Uplift Education is seeking an exceptional English tutor to join our academic team. About Uplift Education
Uplift Education is a high-performance tutoring centre based in Liverpool, NSW. Our focus is on academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and character development. Many of our students pursue top ATAR results and state rankings, and our teaching emphasises depth of analysis, sophisticated writing, and genuine engagement with literature.
Our English program supports students across Years 7–12, including preparation for the HSC English Advanced and Extension courses. Classes are small and discussion-driven, allowing tutors to work closely with students and develop their analytical and writing abilities.
The Role
As an English tutor, you will:
- Teach small group classes (Years 7–12) focused on analytical reading and writing
- Guide students through prescribed texts, including novels, poetry, drama, and critical essays
- Provide structured feedback on student writing and assessment drafts
- Encourage intellectual discipline, curiosity, and independent thought
- Contribute to a classroom culture built on respect, effort, and academic ambition
You will be expected to challenge students to think deeply about literature, language, and ideas, while also supporting them through the demands of the NSW English curriculum.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking individuals who:
- Achieved a Band 6 or equivalent in HSC English (Advanced or Extension preferred)
- Are currently studying, or have completed, a degree in English, Arts, Law, Education, or a related discipline
- Possess strong writing and analytical skills
- Communicate clearly and confidently with students aged 12–18
- Demonstrate reliability, organisation, and professionalism
- Demonstrate tutoring experience
