About the role
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant in the Community Forensic Outreach Service (CFOS) Therapy Service, you will take a leading role in delivering specialised, formulation-led therapeutic interventions for individuals with complex mental health needs and high-risk behaviours. Working within a consultation-liaison model, you will partner closely with treating teams to support safe, effective, and evidence-informed care across community settings. This position combines advanced clinical practice, leadership, and service development, enabling you to influence outcomes not only for individual consumers but across the broader mental health system.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
Contribute to the formulation, treatment planning, and implementation of targeted interventions for problem behaviours across mental health services.
Deliver high-level evidence-based clinical therapy services, adhering to professional and ethical standards, with a high degree of independence, to achieve patient focused outcomes.
Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience, and clinical skills in mental health services and forensic interventions.
Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills, and expert clinical judgement to resolve a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable clinical evidence with minimal direct clinical practice supervision.
