Truland Development & Constructions is seeking an experienced Finishes Leading Hand for an eight-storey, 47-apartment mixed-use development currently under construction in central Wollongong.
You will work directly with the Site Manager and Project Manager, taking a hands-on role in coordinating internal trades from rough-in through to finishes, defects and handover.
Key responsibilities include:
- Daily coordination and supervision of internal trades;
- Driving the floor-by-floor internal works programme;
- Coordinating framing, services rough-in, plasterboard, waterproofing, tiling, joinery, painting, flooring, doors and fit-off;
- Checking work areas are ready before each trade starts;
- Identifying sequencing, access and coordination issues before they delay the programme;
- Monitoring subcontractor manpower and daily progress;
- Reading architectural and services drawings;
- QA inspections, defects and close-out;
- Maintaining site safety, cleanliness and access;
- Daily progress reporting to the Site Manager and Project Manager; and
- Minor hands-on works where required.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous Leading Hand / Foreman / senior trades experience on multi-storey apartment projects;
- Has strong experience in internal fitout and finishes;
- Understands how to coordinate multiple trades concurrently rather than sequentially;
- Can read drawings and identify coordination issues;
- Is practical, organised and proactive on site;
- Holds a NSW White Card and Australian driver licence; and
- Has full Australian working rights.
Carpentry trade qualifications, First Aid, Working at Heights and EWP tickets are highly regarded.
This is a site-based role. We need someone who is actively on the floors coordinating trades and driving progress.
