About us:
Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west. The Diabetes Centre is the major specialist referral and resource centre in Far North Queensland and provides diabetes services to the Torres, Cape, and Cairns and Hinterland Health Service areas. The team provides both in reach services to Cairns Hospital and outreach or telehealth services to the Cairns Hinterland Hospital Health Service (CHHHS) and Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service (TCHHS).
About you:
Effectively manage self-development and work with the Team Leader/Nurse Unit Manager/Clinical Nurse Educator to meet unit nursing staff development needs.
Undertake quality improvement and evidence-based practice activities to ensure the provision of quality, cost-effective patient care. Specifically auditing of patient records against identified performance indicators and clinical Indicators.
Provide support and leadership in the provision of Diabetes Education and care in line with evidence-based practice, Chronic Disease Strategy, Australian Diabetes in Pregnancy, Australian Diabetes Society and Australian Diabetes Educators Association Standards.
Comply with ADEA Credentialling and Recredentialling requirements.
