The Network Engineer is a key role within HammondCare, responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining the voice and data communication services, with a focus on maximum availability and operational performance.
This is permanent full time, based at St Leonards with hybrid working opportunities.
How you’ll make an impact:
Design, implement, maintain, and optimise enterprise voice, data, and network security services across the HammondCare environment
Provide Level 3 technical support, troubleshooting and resolving complex telephony, networking, and security related issues
Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, standards, procedures, reports, and operational records
Analyse, evaluate, and support the implementation of communications technologies, carrier services, and infrastructure solutions.
Act as the primary technical liaison for telecommunications carriers, vendors, and service providers, including service delivery and billing management
Deliver guidance, knowledge transfer, and mentoring for network engineers, IT teams, and operational staff
Monitor and manage internet, and telecommunications services against service level agreements and business requirements
Implement, monitor, and optimise networking, Security and Voice communications platforms to ensure performance, reliability, and service availability
Analyse network performance, traffic patterns, capacity, and utilisation trends, providing recommendations for continual improvement and optimisation
Participate in and support change, incident, problem, and service management processes in accordance with corporate governance frameworks
Coordinate the ongoing support and operation of critical voice and data communication services to maintain system availability, resilience, and reliability.
Lead and support network infrastructure projects, upgrades, technology refreshes, and service improvement initiatives
Maintain network and voice system security, patching, firmware management, and platform lifecycle activities
Design, implement, and manage enterprise SD-WAN and WAN connectivity services to support organisational performance and resilience objectives.
Monitor and maintain network resilience, business continuity, and operational readiness across communications infrastructure
Participate in after-hours support, major incident response, and on-call escalation activities as required

Bachelor’s degree in IT related discipline
At least 5 year’s demonstrated experience as a Network Engineer or Senior Network Engineer
Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise voice, security, networking, and communications infrastructure across diverse technology environments
Strong understanding of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices relevant to telecommunications, networking, and data communications
Broad knowledge of modern communications technologies, including cloud networking, data centres, SD-WAN, WAN, VoIP, wireless, and collaboration platforms
Technical expertise in routing, switching, TCP/IP networking, routing protocols, firewalls, cloud voice services, and Azure networking
Strong understanding of SD-WAN architecture, Network Security, and Network authentication
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Sophos, and similar enterprise networking technologies
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, customer service, and project delivery capabilities
Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and provide on-call/after-hours support when required
Desirable
Certification in cisco or equivalent (CCNP, CCIE, CCNA)
ITIL certification
IT security experience
Experience in network technologies, architectures, and solution design
