Occupational Therapist — Traralgon VIC | Generalist | Newly Created Role
Permanent | Competitive Salary + PD
Shape your own role. Build something from scratch. Do it in one of Victoria's best lifestyle regions.
This isn't a role where you slot into someone else's system. Traralgon's well-established multidisciplinary clinic has created a brand new OT position — and they want the right person to help design how it runs. The caseload, the workflow, the day-to-day rhythm — there's genuine flexibility to build this in a way that works for you.
The clinic owner is hands-on, approachable and genuinely open to ideas. If you've ever wanted autonomy without feeling like you're on your own, this is it.
The role
You'll work across a mixed generalist caseload covering:
-
Adults and paediatrics
-
Community and clinic-based appointments
-
Functional and general OT assessments
-
A broad range of presentations and conditions
Some community travel is part of the role (schools, aged care facilities, home visits), so a driver's licence is needed. Down the track, if you're interested, there may also be an opportunity to mentor junior OTs as the team grows — though that's entirely optional.
This role suits you if you
-
Enjoy variety and are confident managing a broad caseload independently
-
Like making clinical decisions without having to run everything past someone
-
Want to genuinely shape a service rather than just fill a seat
-
Value being part of a team that actually supports each other
What's on offer
-
Competitive salary, negotiable based on your experience
-
Multiple professional development opportunities throughout the year
-
Flexible workflow — you have real input into how your days are structured
-
Long-term growth potential within an established organisation with clinics across Australia
-
Supportive, flexible management who value your input
What you'll need
-
General AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
-
Minimum 3 years of experience within the Australian or comparable healthcare system
-
Confident managing a mixed caseload independently
-
Strong communication and organisational skills
-
Driver's licence
Why Traralgon?
Traralgon sits in the heart of Gippsland — one of Victoria's most liveable regions. Here's why people who move there tend to stay:
Lifestyle — national parks, lakes, hiking trails and beaches all within reach on weekends. A relaxed pace without sacrificing convenience.
Affordability — housing costs a fraction of Melbourne. Your salary goes considerably further.
Community — great schools, a growing café and dining scene, sporting clubs and a genuine sense of neighbourhood that's hard to find in a city.
Connected — Melbourne is accessible by train or car, so regional living doesn't mean being cut off.
If you've been thinking about making a move out of the city, this is the kind of role and location that makes it easy to say yes.
