About Woods Grain
Woods Grain Pty Ltd is part of Woods Group, a vertically integrated regional Australian agribusiness operating across grain, stockfeed, food manufacturing, logistics, transport, warehousing and related operational support functions.
We are seeking a full-time Telecommunications Technical Officer to support reliable telecommunications, network connectivity and connected equipment across our Goondiwindi operations and, as required, other Woods Grain and Woods Group sites.
About the role
The Telecommunications Technical Officer will provide specialised technical support for telecommunications networks, internet services, network equipment, site connectivity and related communications infrastructure.
The role will assist with monitoring performance, diagnosing and resolving faults, installing and configuring approved equipment, maintaining technical records, supporting network and communications projects, and coordinating with carriers, vendors, contractors and external IT providers.
This is a practical, hands-on technical role suited to someone who can work across both office-based systems and site-based operational environments.
Key responsibilities
· Monitor telecommunications networks, internet services, site connectivity and related equipment.
· Diagnose telecommunications, network and connectivity faults and coordinate timely restoration.
· Repair, replace, reconfigure or coordinate specialist repair of approved telecommunications equipment.
· Install and configure approved routers, switches, wireless access points, modems, voice equipment, radio, telemetry and related communications technology.
· Support integration of telecommunications and network technology with computer hardware, software, desktops, peripherals, databases and operating systems.
· Maintain accurate equipment, inventory, configuration, service history and technical documentation records.
· Liaise with telecommunications carriers, internet providers, vendors, suppliers, contractors and external technical resources.
· Support testing, handover and follow-up after faults, repairs, installations or approved changes.
· Identify recurring faults, capacity constraints, coverage issues and practical improvement opportunities.
· Provide clear technical advice to managers, site teams and users.
· Work safely and comply with company procedures, cybersecurity, confidentiality and access-control requirements.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
· Demonstrated experience in telecommunications, network support, communications technology, ICT support or a similar technical role.
· Experience diagnosing, repairing or coordinating resolution of telecommunications, network or connectivity faults.
· Experience installing, configuring or supporting network devices such as routers, switches, wireless equipment, modems, voice, radio or telemetry equipment.
· Working knowledge of LAN/WAN connectivity, internet services, wireless networks, voice services, radio communications or remote-site connectivity.
· Strong troubleshooting, testing and practical problem-solving skills.
· Ability to interpret technical information and explain issues clearly to non-technical users.
· Good organisation, documentation and follow-through.
· Ability to coordinate with internal staff, external contractors, carriers, vendors and service providers.
· Attention to detail in maintaining equipment, configuration, service and inventory records.
· A practical, service-focused approach suited to a regional, multi-site operational business.
Qualifications and other requirements
· Relevant qualification in telecommunications, networking, electronics, information technology or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated technical experience.
· Current driver licence.
· Relevant telecommunications, networking, radio, vendor, cabling or cybersecurity certifications would be advantageous.
· Travel to Woods Grain and other Woods Group operating sites may be required from time to time.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
