About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake and AWS to join a leading organisation on an initial 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work on modern cloud-based data platforms, building scalable data pipelines and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Snowflake and AWS data services, along with a strong foundation in data engineering best practices, ETL/ELT development, and cloud-native architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions using Snowflake and AWS.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows to support analytics, reporting, and operational data needs.
- Develop data ingestion frameworks from various internal and external source systems.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, architects, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Implement data quality, security, governance, and performance optimization best practices.
- Support cloud data platform enhancements, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge-sharing within the team.
Required Skills & ExperienceEssential
- 3–6 years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Strong experience working with AWS services, including: AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, Amazon DynamoDB, AWS IAM
- Strong SQL development and data transformation skills.
- Experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines in cloud environments.
- Good understanding of data warehousing concepts and modern data architectures.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Desirable
Experience with:
- Matillion
- dbt (Data Build Tool)
- Python scripting
- CI/CD pipelines
- Git/GitHub
- Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
- Exposure to data quality and data governance frameworks.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Guidewire and/or Fineos platforms.
- Prior experience within the Insurance domain.
- Exposure to policy, claims, underwriting, or customer data platforms.

Pay: $750.00 – $770.00 per day
