The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of business clients and providing accounting, taxation, and advisory services. This role requires direct client engagement and strong technical accounting capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, and Business Activity Statements (BAS)
* Providing taxation advice and business advisory services to clients
* Managing client relationships and conducting client meetings
* Researching and resolving taxation and compliance issues
* Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC)
* Assisting with business structuring, tax planning, and compliance obligations
* Reviewing bookkeeping records and ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards
* Supporting internal business operations and workflow management
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline
* CPA or CA qualification (or actively working towards completion)
* Minimum 3 years’ relevant accounting experience in public practice or business services
* Strong knowledge of Australian taxation law and compliance requirements
* Experience with Xero, MYOB, and Microsoft Office
* Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Desirable
* Small business advisory experience
* Experience with health professional clients
* SMSF knowledge
