Accountabilities include:
- Provide vision & direction to the Technical Services (TS) function and ensure TS services and activities are delivered in alignment with state-wide priorities and goals.
- Ensure the application and management of technical and administrative governance frameworks in order to monitor compliance with policy, legislation, regulations, standards, and procedures associated with infrastructure activities.
- Implement strategies to ensure ongoing technical capability across services provided by TS, including permanent staff supplemented by contractors and external consultancies, in alignment with the needs of functional areas.
- Maintain a TS program of works and customer base by liaising with functional areas and other Managers (Technical Services) to ensure consistent allocation of resources, outputs and standards in contributing to the delivery of the state-wide program and priorities.
- Coordinate the engagement of consultants and monitor performance in accordance with contractual arrangements.
- Provide authoritative advice to the District Director and program managers on TS issues.
