Cardiac Physiologist – Echocardiography Trainee

We are looking for a Cardiac Physiologist to be based in metro Victoria who wishes to train as a Specialist Cardiac Physiologist (Cardiac Sonographer).
What you’ll do:
- Working across all Advara HeartCare Victoria practices (core, satellite & regional) when required to provide exceptional patient care.
- You will be required to work closely with other Cardiac Physiologists, Specialist Cardiac Physiologists, Cardiologists and all practice staff to ensure best practice and optimise patient outcomes.
- Work closely with our team of Specialist Cardiac Physiologists, Clinical Supervisor and Lead Cardiac Physiologists to gain practical and theoretical skills associated with the performance of an Echocardiogram following the clinical standards set by our Cardiologist team and ASE guidelines
- Have the ability to identify areas requiring improvement and to actively direct your learning to correct this or to seek guidance from your Clinical Supervisor
- Contribute to fellow Echo Trainees learning through participation in learning-based groups and activities
- Be enrolled in an accredited Cardiac Sonography course and be able to perform the hours of required study, exams and assignments outside of the time rostered in the clinical workplace.
- Be able to financially contribute to the course fees upfront with a fee re-imbursement agreement upon successful completion of the course.
- Work in the clinical environment for a minimum of 4 days per week. Will be required to provide assistance in CP duties throughout and beyond SCP training when a need for support exists.
- Mandatory completion of Advara’s National Echo Training Program required prior to commencing formal university studies to progress with training role.
Who you are:
- Previous employment and experience as a Cardiac Physiologist at Advara HeartCare is required
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to provide guidance and theoretical education to less experienced Cardiac Physiologists.
- Demonstrated alignment with Advara’s core values and growth strategies of both the broader company as well as the Vic Cardiac Physiologist team.
- An ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team.
- An ability to carefully plan, organise and prioritise tasks.
- An understanding of patient service principles with an ability to respond empathetically to patient needs.
- The ability to work under pressure and respond to fluctuating workflow and internal / external demands.
- The ability to follow direction; accept feedback; learn new tasks and adapt to change.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to establish rapport with team members both above and below the Trainee SCP position.
- Demonstrated ability to receive and respond effectively to supervisor and doctor feedback and constructive criticism.
- An ability to actively seek practical training where appropriate and inform supervisor of your ongoing progress and developmental needs.
- Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with others and take clinical direction from more experienced Specialist Cardiac Physiologists.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and staying at the forefront of cardiac ultrasound developments.
- An ability to set aside dedicated time outside of clinical hours to progress theoretically.
- License and car are essential, as the ability to travel between sites is a requirement of the role.
